Great emphasis is placed upon learning through discovery and to this end, Edenhurst employs the investigative approach to Science. Children design their own practical experiments to test their hypotheses. Outings to carefully selected 'Science' museums also feature prominently. Where possible, those offering practical workshops are chosen as these tend to deepen understanding and enhance enjoyment of the subject. An example is the "Think Tank" in Birmingham where children become forensic scientists at a Crime Scene and also learn how to programme a 'robot' to find their way around a series of obstacles.
