Edenhurst Nursery has been nurturing children and supporting families in Newcastle-under-Lyme for over 20 years. Welcoming children from just 3 months old to 4 years, our nursery provides a warm, inspiring and caring environment where every child is encouraged to grow in confidence, develop their individuality and build a lifelong love of learning.
With a strong educational heritage, we offer more than just exceptional childcare. Every Child, Their Own Path
At Edenhurst, we recognise that every child develops in their own way and at their own pace. Our approach focuses on stage-not-age learning, ensuring that children are supported according to their individual interests, strengths and developmental needs rather than simply their age.
Our nursery rooms are thoughtfully designed to provide the right balance of care, challenge and opportunity at each stage of a child’s early years. Through play, exploration and carefully planned activities, children are encouraged to become confident, curious and capable learners, supported by a dedicated team who know and value every child as an individual.
Our Nursery Rooms:
- Edenhurst Babies (from 3 months to approximately 18 months)
- Edenhurst Toddlers (from approximately 18 months to 2 years)
- Edenhurst Little Learners (from approximately 2 years to 3 years)
- Edenhurst Kindergarten (from approximately 3 years to 4 years)
Each purpose-designed room provides spacious play areas and dedicated dining spaces, carefully designed to create an effective and engaging learning environment. Our qualified, friendly staff are dedicated to providing each child with all the support and encouragement they need to learn and grow, including a dedicated SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).
Food and Nutrition
Our children enjoy nutritionally balanced, home-cooked food, made fresh on-site daily by our Nursery Cook, Michelle. View our Nursery menus.
Beyond the Everyday Nursery
Most nurseries offer the basics. We offer something exceptional, including Music lessons with our dedicated music teacher, PE sessions led by our sports specialist, Language exposure and Creative arts.
Our teaching in Nursery follows the same approach to Phonics, cursive writing, Maths and English as our Prep School, overseen by subject specialists. Children also enjoy outdoor learning, with plenty of opportunities for social skills development through play. Our curriculum doesn’t just prepare children for school – it prepares them for life.
Support for Working Families
We understand the juggling act of modern family life. That’s why Little Edenhurst is designed with working parents in mind. We offer extended hours from 7:30am to 6:00pm daily and year-round care (closed only Christmas week).

Our staff work in partnership with parents to welcome children into our happy environment, with ample opportunity to discuss your child’s needs and ensure continuity of care between home and nursery.
