Admissions

Places Available for 2024/25

We understand how unsettling it must be for families affected by news of the imminent closure of St. Joseph’s Prep. We want you to know that our doors are open to welcome you. With limited places available across all year groups, from Nursery to Prep 6, we encourage you to visit us for a chat with our Headteacher and to see what makes our school so special.

Admissions Process

At Edenhurst, every day is an open day. Interested families can arrange a tour of the school at any time.

Registration

Parents wishing to register their interest in the Edenhurst Prep School should complete the Registration Form and return it with a non-refundable fee of £75.

Once registered, we will invite your child to come along to a Taster Day. Offers for places at the school are made following a successful Taster Day.

For children already in the Edenhurst Nursery, there is no registration fee at this stage but parents are required to complete a Registration Form and pay a £200 refundable deposit to confirm their child’s place in our Reception class.

Admissions criteria

Edenhurst prides itself on being a fully inclusive school. We are academically non-selective, however prospective pupils and their families are required to meet certain criteria in order to maintain the ethos of the school.

A child attending Edenhurst’s Nursery is automatically guaranteed entry into Reception whereas admission into other year groups is dependent upon places being available.

Entry is recommended at the beginning of a school term, but other start times are possible depending upon individual circumstances.

School admissions (Reception to Prep 6) are overseen by the Headteacher and Admissions Officer. Admissions into Nursery (for children aged three months to four years) are overseen by the Nursery Manager and Admissions Officer.

Offer of a Place

A place at the school may be offered following a Taster Day.

Acceptance of a Place

Once the Head has offered a place, we request a deposit of £200 to confirm the child’s place, which will be refunded when they leave Edenhurst, subject to any outstanding amounts.

Waiting List

If a place in the appropriate year group is not available, the Head may offer a place on the Waiting List. Parents would then be informed at the earliest opportunity when a vacancy occurs.

Withdrawal of Offer of a Place

The school reserves the right to withdraw the offer of a place subsequent to the receipt of a Registration Form, in which case the Registration Fee would be refunded.

Admissions Process for Edenhurst Nursery

Interested families can contact the Nursery to arrange a tour by calling 01782 619348 or completing our short booking form.

Parents can request a place in the Nursery by completing our Nursery Registration Form and returning it, along with a copy of the child’s birth certificate and a non-refundable registration fee of £75.

Two weeks prior to the agreed start date, settling in visits are arranged in order for your child to familiarise themselves with the new environment of the Nursery and staff.
