Admissions criteria
Admission into Edenhurst School is academically non-selective, but is subject to the prospective pupil meeting the criteria required to maintain the ethos of the school.
A child with a place in Edenhurst’s Nursery is guaranteed entry into Reception, whereas entry into other year groups is dependent on places being available. Other than children entering Reception from Nursery, prospective pupils will be assessed according to academic ability and other strengths. A member of staff at school carries out assessment, appropriate for the age of the child, during a school day.
The normal year of entry is Reception, after the child’s fourth birthday.
Entry is recommended at the beginning of a school term, but other times of entry are possible dependent on circumstances.
The Headteacher and Admissions Officer administer admission into the Preparatory School. The Nursery Manager and Admissions Officer control admission into Edenhurst Nursery for children aged three months to four years.
Offer of a Place
A place at the school may be offered following a Taster Day.
Acceptance of a Place
Once the Head has offered a place, parents are required to complete the Home-School Agreement Form & Terms and Conditions (Acceptance Form). We also require a deposit of £150, which will be refunded when the child leaves Edenhurst, subject to any outstanding amounts.
