Admissions

Choosing the right nursery or school for your child is one of the most important decisions you’ll make. At Edenhurst, we understand that every family’s journey is unique, and we’re here to make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible.

With limited spaces available across all year groups – from Nursery to Prep 6 – we encourage you to visit us, meet our Headteacher, staff and pupils, and discover what makes Edenhurst so special.

Your Admissions Journey

Nursery 5-Step Admissions Process

Step 1: Visit Us

We believe the best way to experience Edenhurst Nursery is to see us in action! We welcome families for personal tours throughout the year. Arrange a tour of the Nursery – call us on 01782 619348 or book a visit online.

Step 2: Register

To apply for a place, simply complete our Nursery Registration Form and return it along with a non-refundable registration fee of £75. You will also be asked to provide a copy of your child’s birth certificate.

Step 3: Offer of a Place

After we receive your Registration Form, we will make a formal offer of a place. If a place isn’t available for your child, we can add them to our Waiting List. We’ll keep you updated and contact you as soon as a place becomes available.

Step 4: Accept the Place

We will contact you to confirm you wish to accept the place and arrange settling in visits.

Step 5: Settling In Sessions

Two weeks before your child starts, we’ll arrange settling-in visits to help them feel comfortable in their new surroundings. These sessions allow both you and your child to become familiar with the nursery routine and the staff.

  • First Visit: Your child’s initial visit lasts around one hour. Parents are welcome to stay and ask any questions.
  • Follow-up Visits: Longer visits are then scheduled to help your child gradually adjust to staying for a full session.

School 5-Step Admissions Process

Step 1: Visit Us

We believe the best way to experience Edenhurst is to see it in action! We welcome families for personal tours throughout the year.

Arrange a tour with our Headteacher at a time that suits you. Call us on 01782 619348 or book a visit online.

Step 2: Register

To apply for a place, simply complete our School Registration Form and return it along with a non-refundable registration fee of £75.

For children already in Edenhurst Nursery, there is no registration fee at this stage, but a £200 refundable deposit is required to confirm a place in Reception.

Step 3: Experience a Taster Day

Once registered, we’ll invite your child to spend a Taster Day with their future classmates, giving them a chance to experience life at Edenhurst.

Step 4: Offer of a Place

After a successful Taster Day, we’ll send a formal offer of a place.

Step 5: Accept the Place

To confirm your child’s enrolment, we ask for a £200 deposit, which is refunded when they leave Edenhurst, subject to any outstanding fees.

Admissions Criteria

Edenhurst prides itself on being a fully inclusive, academically non-selective school; however, prospective pupils and their families must meet certain criteria to ensure alignment with our school’s ethos.

  • Nursery to Reception – A guaranteed place in Reception is offered to children already attending our Nursery.*
  • Prep School (Reception to Prep 6) – Admissions depend on space availability and a successful Taster Day.

School admissions (Reception to Prep 6) are overseen by the Headteacher and Admissions Officer. Admissions into Nursery (for children aged three months to four years) are overseen by the Nursery Manager and Admissions Officer. While most children join us at the beginning of a term, mid-year entry is possible depending on availability.

The school reserves the right to withdraw the offer of a place subsequent to the receipt of a Registration Form, in which case the Registration Fee would be refunded.

*Reception place guaranteed on receipt of £200 refundable deposit.
