When I woke up on Tuesday morning, I knew it would be an exciting day. When I got to school, we left straight away on the minibus. After a few minutes, we arrived at the fire station, where we were greeted by a very nice man (who was a volunteer). He told us all about the firetrucks.
Our first activity was with a police officer who helped us take our fingerprints (mine was a whorl), which was a lot of fun. Our next activity was in a giant room where they had called two of us up at a time and we had to tap everything that we thought was a fire hazard, then they simulated how a fire can spread very quickly in just 2 minutes!
Our third activity was with a woman who told us all about money, bank accounts and finance. Our last activity was about the dangers of roads, railways and how we should never cross the yellow line at the railway station. Then sadly, we all had to go back to school, but when we had left, we were allowed to take a photo beside a firetruck. When I got home, I enjoyed telling my parents all of the wonders of a fire station.
