As part of our initiative to connect more with the local community, Prep 5 and Prep 6 spent a morning at the impressive Lego Innovation Studio at our local college, NSCG. The children took part in two exciting challenges: the first was to build a battery-operated car, and the second was to design a car powered by wind.
A group of three enthusiastic Lego builders won both challenges, and they were thrilled with their prizes. Every child received a participation Lego wristband as a memento of their efforts.
The students walked to and from the college, clocking up an impressive 5K (though some legs were a little sore by the time we returned to school!). Along the way, we passed the ancient remains of the castle walls that once surrounded Newcastle-under-Lyme, which sparked plenty of curiosity among the children.
After all that hard work, the children were grateful for Jen’s delicious lunch when we returned to school.
