What's Going On In Reception?

Reception have been very busy this term. We started the term with rehearsals for our class musical play, “The Enormous Turnip”. It was great fun performing in our costumes, on the stage in front of the school and our parents.

We love doing maths work outside, especially using the playground markings to help us with number bonds to ten.

In Literacy, linked to our topic about minibeasts, we heard the story, “What the Ladybird Heard”, and then used the information from the story to draw a map of the farmyard.

We are now able to sing and play three songs on the ukulele, and are about to learn a new chord.

For our Forest School activities this term, we have planted dahlias, collected a huge crop of red and white onions, and some people in the class have gained a golden ticket to attend the mystery trip!

Our display about fruit and vegetables was a picture in the style of the famous artist, Arcimboldo, and we are still in the process of completing our Bug World display, which is great fun to do, and some people have even brought in work completed at home.
