U11 Rugby v. St. Bede’s:

The U11 team was in excellent form once again. St Bede’s was a very strong and well drilled team and in the first two quarters was better than us at the breakdown (Ruck). Our attacking play was electric with our backs, Toby E, Elliot N and Alex Z leading the way.

Our ruck play improved in the last two quarters which was pleasing to see and helped us to take the lead. The game was very tight throughout, but with great team play and excellent tackling we held on for a very good win against a strong side.

ISA U9 Tag Rugby:

20 schools arrived for the ISA Tag Rugby Tournament at Stafford Grammar School. We were paired in a group with Castle House, Old Vicarage and Stafford Prep School. A mixed squad of Yr3&4 gave a great account of themselves, qualifying for the quarter finals of the plate competition. Our attacking play was a pleasure to watch with some excellent team play and intelligent support of the ball carrier.

An area the boys will continue to work on is their defensive line: if we can improve this part of our game we will see greater success in future games and tournaments. The most pleasing part of the day was seeing the boys learning and improving with each game, well done!
