Children’s Mental Health Week at Edenhurst

Posted: 13th February 2026

Ahead of Children’s Mental Health Week, we took time to come together and explore this year’s theme, “This Is My Place.” Through thoughtful discussion and shared reflection, the children talked about what belonging really means and how it feels to be a valued part of the Edenhurst community.

We explored the idea that everyone’s “place” can look and feel different, and that our differences are something to be celebrated. The children spoke openly about friendship, kindness and the importance of feeling safe, seen and accepted. These conversations offered a meaningful opportunity to reinforce the message that every voice matters and that Edenhurst is a place where everyone is welcome.

To celebrate their individuality, the children created self-portraits, each one capturing their unique personalities and perspectives. These will soon be collated into a special commemorative tea towel, a lasting reminder of the diverse and vibrant community we share. They also designed their own unique handprints, symbolising the personal mark each child leaves on our school.

It was a happy and reflective event, and a wonderful reminder that Edenhurst is more than just a school – it is a place of belonging, where everyone is valued for who they are.
