I trained to be a teacher at Keele University when I returned to Stoke after living and working in New Zealand. When choosing a specialism, I had no hesitation in choosing Mathematics as it was my favourite subject at school and I wanted to help and inspire children in the way that I was. Once qualified, I spent four years at The Meadows Primary Academy in Blurton where I taught in both Year 5 and Year 6. I loved the challenge of teaching across the curriculum but I am looking forward to utilising my specialism and inspiring Edenhurst’s budding mathematicians.
I have been married for three years and we have two wonderful daughters ( the eldest is 2 and the youngest is 4 months old) so life outside of school hours is very busy. We spend weekends at various clubs including swimming and football. I love sports, especially football and am a huge Leeds United supporter. I try to stay active and play football once a week too.
Random fact about me:
In 2013, I moved abroad and travelled around Australia where I swam with whale sharks.
Whilst living in New Zealand, I skydived and bungee jumped.
