Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of The Gruffalo in Nursery

Posted: 22nd March 2024

A mouse took a stroll through the deep dark wood….

The Nursery have recently been celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the publication of the Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffer by having a Gruffalo Week!

This story is a must read for all rooms from Babies to Kindergarten!

Each room has planned exciting activities; the Little Learners have been food tasting scrambled snake (scrambled eggs), roasted fox (wotsits), owl ice cream (frozen yogurt and cheerios) and Gruffalo Crumble. The Babies listened to the story on a Tonie Box while the Toddlers got very messy exploring Owl Ice Cream and Custard! The Explorers have created their own gruffalo crumble with natural materials and the Kindergarten children have been sequencing the story and writing key words.

Everyone also loves a dressing up day and children came dressed in their Gruffalo clothing throughout the week.

Even though there’s no such thing as a Gruffalo….. Or is there?
