Posted: 25th March 2022

Thank you to all of you who responded to the recent annual parent survey. We use the data to support the forward planning of the school. Your feedback is invaluable and complements the feedback we receive via our regular contact with you. I am always appreciative of this as it helps inform our planning and ensures we are working closely with you, so thank you for your time and effort in delivering this to us.

Priorities for Academic Year 2022/23

I really appreciate the time it took you to complete the survey and can assure you that responses to each of the questions have been carefully reviewed. I have identified the following areas to consider for our School Development Plan next year, and to continue to improve our educational offer:

  • Reporting and feedback: It is clear from the survey that parents felt less clear about where their children were performing academically. This was in some instances due to the fact that parents were kept out of the school for large parts of the past two years but also due to the way information is presented in the end of term reports.

As a result of this feedback, the Senior Leadership Team will be looking at the format of reports, consulting parents and redesigning our end of term reports. A new style of the report will be available at the end of the  Michaelmas term 2022. During the Trinity term of 2022, the school will make a concerted effort to invite parents back into the building. This process has already begun but a cautious approach has been adopted as a result of the pandemic.

  • Communication regarding school developments: There are clearly some parents who are not aware of the school development priorities.  It is extremely important to us that all parents are on board with the direction in which the school is moving. To ensure that this information is accessible to parents, I will as always host the ‘Year Ahead’ meeting and send out copies of the development plan to all parents. The section dedicated to this on the website will be upgraded and made more user friendly. I will also resume Head’s coffee events in the Trinity term to allow parents the opportunity to come and discuss this with me.

I hope that this is all good news. It comes as a direct result of your input for which I am grateful.

In the meantime, if you have any questions regarding the survey results, please do not hesitate to contact me.
