A few weeks ago 24 very eager students took on the challenge of competing in the Cheshire Kids Duathlon held on Saturday 19th May in Nantwich.

We spent Monday nights training in the park down the road from school, running and cycling. The children built up their fitness in both disciplines and enjoyed the opportunity to push themselves beyond their capabilities.

The children then competed in the Duathlon event, that had some longer and some shorter distances to compete in. All the children tried extremely hard in very hot conditions. It was so pleasing to see the effort and commitment they made to this event. All of the children received a medal and the satisfaction of completing their chosen event.

Many thanks to Mrs. Heyhoe without whose time, this could not have gone ahead.  Also thank you to parents for bringing in the children’s bikes on Monday evenings, as well as attending the event.

There are a few children still wanting to run on Monday nights, so the club will continue from 4-5pm on Mondays after half term. Should your child wish to join our running club please email me at: sarah.greig@edenhurst.co.uk
