Our “Special Visit” from the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music, as the exam board call it, was held over 2 days this year due to a record number of students entered for examination – 32 in total.  The instruments examined included piano, violin, ‘cello, clarinet, saxophone and voice.  Mrs. Rosemary Broadbent, the examiner, praised the children for their composure and excellent preparation.

Thank you to all the instrumental teachers for their part in teaching and preparing the children in all the elements of the exam.  Also thank you to the parents for their encouragement of the children in the necessary practising at home.

My special thanks go to Joseph Nash who assisted as a “runner” for the whole visit – collecting the exam candidates from their various classrooms at the correct time ready for a pre-exam warm up and writing out a programme sheet to give to the examiner for each individual performance.  I couldn’t have managed without him.  Thank you, Joe!
