In Reception we enjoy covering the Seven Areas of Learning. These are Communication and Language; Personal, Social and Emotional Development; Physical Development; Mathematics; Literacy; Expressive Arts and Design; and Understanding the World. These areas are covered both inside and outside the classroom, and through our monthly topics.
We have all made special friends and love playing with activities. We try hard with our work and behaviour and then get marbles in a jar which lead to us voting for exciting marbles treats.
At playtimes our Year 6 buddies come to play with us, which is great fun.
We love working in groups and we built box houses as part of our November topic.
After the weekend, we discuss our news with a listening partner, and share Barnaby and Aleeza Bears’ adventures with the class.
PE on the astroturf is great fun, and we are learning to develop ball skills. We have all made excellent progress in our weekly swimming sessions.
We all love Forest Friday and our Eco work, we even went on an outdoor activity day to Cannock Chase.
Everyone tries hard with pencil control activities and writing, and we have all written about our favourite nocturnal animal.
French with Madame Cotton and Music with Mrs Mair are both great fun, and we love our art activities.
Maths sessions are done both in and out of the classroom and we can now count in tens to 100. We love the outdoor challenges and working on the Purple Mash computer programme.
Last week we did our first assembly for parents, which everyone enjoyed, and we are now looking forward to our new topic…Christmas.
