A squad of 15 boys and girls from P3 to P6 took part in the swimming gala at Trentham High School. This is the first year we have entered this gala as we now use the swimming pool as our base for swimming lessons for P3-P6. Each year group has a 6 week block throughout the year which we feel is very important and a life skill the children need to learn.
With 3 other teams entered we got down to the racing, each race was split into two age groups: Yr 3&4 and Yr 5&6, in which either boys or girls could race. With 7 different races from front crawl, butterfly to relays we performed well scoring points in every race. Overall the team finished 3rd: for our first ever gala at this format we gave a good account of ourselves and are looking forward to improving our position next year.
