Reception topic in June is Books and ICT. We have been having great fun using different types of technology, and hearing stories by some authors we had not heard of.
We loved Sir Charlie Stinky Socks and the great big Adventure, and Tyrannosaurus Drip. We heard the traditional tale of Red Riding Hood and the highlight of our week, this week is a visit to the Royal Northern Ballet to see The Tortoise and the Hare.
We have enjoyed programming the Beebot to go around a race track and also go to a shop, turn and then go forwards, programming it in one move.
We have used the laptops to complete some work on mathswhizz and the computer in the classroom to use the Purple Mash programme to paint a dragon, design a dinosaur and use the 2go programme.
We have also had great fun experimenting with various programmes on the iPad. Our favourites are duck duck moose, tunetastic, mazes, abc phonics, fish school, picture match and a colour in activity.
We are looking forward to developing our keyboard skills in the next two weeks of this topic.
