The Toddlers were very excited to visit the local shop recently to buy some fruit and vegetables for our theme on Healthy Eating. We bundled up to keep warm as the weather was a bit snowy and walked down the road. We came to Tesco and explored the vegetable aisle to choose some different items to make into soup. Timmy the tiger even came too before he went home for tea with someone. When it was time to pay, we went to the self-checkout and helped Liz put the money into the till and keep hold of the receipt.
We have put our cookery skills to good use this month as we have also made Rainbow Toast, Vegetable Soup, Fruit Smoothies, Mouse Bread and Frozen Yoghurt Buttons. As a treat we also made lion biscuits which were very tasty!
Michelle, the Nursery cook has also been working on some new tasty meals for the children to have at lunch and tea. The new meals have been trialled with the children and will be fully available after Easter and include new dishes such as Tomato and Cheese Pasta Bake and Bread and Butter Pudding for lunch and Tuna and Sweetcorn Sandwiches and Vegetable Soup for tea.
