Pupil Blog: Drayton Manor Park Trip

Posted: 13th July 2026

On a grey Monday morning the whole school took the coach to Drayton Manor Park in Staffordshire. It was a 1 hour and 30 minute drive. When we got to the theme park the teachers decided what to do first and we split into Pre-prep and Prep groups. The Prep groups ended up going to the rides. The first ride we did was called the Buccaneer Pirate ship where we swung back and forth really fast, each time going higher. Then the bravest of us went on 2 of the more thrilling rides. Maelstrom was like the pirate ship but bigger and it spins around. After that we went on Wave, which is a roller coaster that goes 53 mph! There was one loop, a corkscrew and a drop. Anyone who didn’t want to go on the scary rides went on the ride called the Wave Swinger, which was a lot of swings going round and round whilst kept going up. Then they went on the Polperro Express and the River Rapids. We met up for a quick lunch and after that we walked to the Viking area. The first ride was the Jormungandr, which was a very smooth rollercoaster ride. We went on loads of other exciting rides. Whilst the older children enjoyed the big rides, the form 1 Children went to Drayton Manor’s Zoo and they enjoyed lots of smaller Thomas land, which they found very exciting. We ended the trip with a tasty ice cream. It was a really fun day and luckily we went home when it started to rain.
