Edenhurst Nursery’s 20th Anniversary Celebration

Posted: 9th September 2025

Newcastle-under-Lyme MP Adam Jogee was among the special guests who helped celebrate a major milestone for Edenhurst Nursery.

Guests joined current children and staff on Friday, September 5, to mark the 20th anniversary of our nursery and the completion of major refurbishments that have transformed the nursery’s facilities.

The garden party also marked the official launch of the nursery’s new identity as ‘Little Edenhurst’, following months of investment in upgraded rooms and resources.

Mr Jogee toured the newly refurbished facilities and chatted with staff and children during his visit.

He was joined by other local dignitaries including Councillor Simon Tagg, Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council Leader and Westlands Ward Councillor, and Councillor Joan Whieldon, Deputy Mayor and Thistleberry Ward Councillor.

The celebration included an official tree-planting ceremony led by Mr Nick Copestick, former Headmaster of Edenhurst Preparatory School who was instrumental in founding the nursery 20 years ago.

Current and former families were invited to see the results of the refurbishment programme, which has created enhanced learning spaces for children aged three months to four years.

Headteacher Emma Mousley, said: “After months of hard work, we are really excited to officially relaunch the nursery as ‘Little Edenhurst’ as part of the 20th Anniversary celebrations. We have been investing in our facilities, and the newly refurbished rooms will not only enhance the education and experiences of our current children, but also those who attend the nursery for many years to come.”

Guests enjoyed entertainment and refreshments throughout the afternoon. They also had the opportunity to meet staff and pupils while exploring the updated facilities.

The event highlighted the nursery’s important role in the local community, where it has been supporting families for two decades.

Parents interested in securing a nursery place for their child can visit Little Edenhurst during our Open Week, which runs from Monday, September 29 to Friday, October 3.

The sessions offer families the opportunity to take personal tours of the newly refurbished facilities, meet the teaching team, and learn about our expert approach to early years education.

Edenhurst caters for children from three months to eleven years, offering small class sizes, specialist teaching, and a nurturing ethos that builds confidence, individuality, and a lifelong love of learning.
