The Admissions Process
PLACES AVAILABLE FOR A SEPTEMBER 2018 START IN SOME YEAR GROUPS.
Interested families can request a prospectus by completing our online form.
Following receipt of the prospectus pack parents are welcome to arrange a tour of the school. Alternatively, parents can attend any of our upcoming Open Mornings.
Parents wishing to register their interest in the School should complete the Registration Form and return it with a non-refundable fee of £75.
For children already in the Edenhurst Nursery, there is no fee at this stage but parents are required to complete a Nursery to School Transfer Form.
Once registered, your child will be placed on the waiting list and we will invite your child to attend a Taster Day. Offers for places at the school are made following the Taster Day.
Admission into Edenhurst School is academically non-selective, but is subject to the prospective pupil meeting the criteria required to maintain the ethos of the school.
A child with a place in Edenhurst’s Nursery is guaranteed entry into Reception, whereas entry into other year groups is dependent on places being available. Other than children entering Reception from Nursery, prospective pupils will be assessed according to academic ability and other strengths. A member of staff at school carries out assessment, appropriate for the age of the child, during a school day.
The normal year of entry is Reception, after the child’s fourth birthday.
Entry is recommended at the beginning of a school term, but other times of entry are possible dependent on circumstances.
The Headteacher and Admissions Officer administer admission into the Preparatory School. The Nursery Manager controls admission into Edenhurst Nursery for children aged three months to four years.
Offer of a Place
A place at the school may be offered following a Taster Day.
Acceptance of a Place
Once the Head has offered a place, parents are required to complete the Acceptance Form. We also require a deposit of £150, which will be refunded when the child leaves Edenhurst, subject to any outstanding amounts.
If a place in the appropriate year group is not available, the Head may still offer a place on the Waiting List. Parents would then be informed at the earliest opportunity when a vacancy occurs.
Withdrawal of Offer of a Place
The school reserves the right to withdraw the offer of a place subsequent to the receipt of an Acceptance Form, in which case the Registration Fee would be refunded.

Parents can confirm a place in the Nursery by completing our Registration Form and returning it, along with a copy of the child’s birth certificate and a non-refundable registration fee of £75.
Two weeks prior to the agreed start date, settling in visits are arranged in order to familiarize the child with the Nursery setting and staff.
