Me professionally:

After leaving school I immediately began work at Rists Wires and Cables and remained there for 17 years and worked my way up to be a Team Leader. Within this time I met my future husband and in 1994 we were asked to support the opening of a new factory in Sunderland in the North East for two weeks. Eight years, two daughters later we finally came back home to Newcastle U Lyme after I was made redundant. I began to volunteer at my eldest daughter’s school and immediately felt a passion for watching and supporting children while learning. I enrolled in Newcastle U Lyme college and completed my NVQ Level 2&3 and was extremely lucky to be offered a position at my daughter’s primary school. I originally began in the Nursery for 7 years and then moved to reception for 2 Years and then 8 Years in Year 1. During this time I studied for 3 Years for my Foundation Degree in Early Years and Childhood Education and graduated in 2010. My qualification gave me the opportunity to become a Higher Level Teaching Assistant where I gained lots of experience working alongside a group of amazing teaching professionals. Through this role I supported and taught throughout the school from nursery to Year 6. After 18 years at my local school I finally took the plunge and made the move to Edenhurst where I hope I have many happy years ahead of me.

Me personally:

I have a husband and two daughters and feel so lucky that we still enjoy lots of family time, holidays, weekends away and evenings out together even though they are now 25 and 24. I love going on holiday and exploring new places but we all love to return regularly to our two favourite places which are Disney Land, Florida and Jamaica. We all love roller coasters, gorgeous beaches, Reggae music, jerk chicken and rum punch and hot sunny days. My husband and I love to attend golf events and have been to several Ryder Cups, The Open and The PGA in Baltusrol, New Jersey, America.
