Edenhurst has welcomed a new Headteacher this month.

Mike Hibbert has taken over as Head following the retirement of Nick Copestick who was Head of the school for 42 years.

Speaking about his new role, he said: “The minute I walked through the doors, I knew Edenhurst was the kind of school I wanted to be a part of. It is a lovely place to be – the sense of community and family is clearly evident. Edenhurst is a place where children are the absolute priority and this resonates with my own beliefs.”

“I have a very strong staff team. Some of them have been here for years and it is good to have that expertise.

Speaking about his predecessor, he said: “I find it truly inspirational that Nick devoted his whole life to this school. I am looking forward to developing strong relationships with pupils, parents and staff and am honoured to be given the opportunity to continue Nick’s good work.

Mr Hibbert was previously the Assistant Head (Senior Deputy Head) at Merchant Taylor’s Prep in Hertfordshire. His wife Babitah Hibbert has also joined the staff in a part-time role, teaching Maths and PE.
