Reception children have all had a wonderful first week in school. Everyone has settled in well and all children have had great fun playing with their friends and completing new and exciting activities.

We heard the story about”Harry and the Dinosaurs go to School” and made dinosaur masks and very loud roars! Also in Literacy, we have been singing the nursery rhyme Incy Wincy Spider and completing activities about it. We made paper spiders, danced like a spider, gave a name to a spider, in maths we counted eight objects and we sequenced the story using picture cards. In forest schools work we made a spider from natural materials, collected from the field and garden.

Our first PE lesson was great fun and we all enjoyed our first swimming lesson and the trip on the minibus. We learnt some new songs in music, and new words in French.

Our topic this month is “Ourselves” and we have been learning some new songs and playing body bingo and snap.

We had great fun meeting and playing with our buddies from Year 6, who come and look after us and play with us every playtime.

We are all looking forward to our first trip of the year to Stafford Theatre to see ‘Stick Man’ which is happening this Friday afternoon, 23rd September.
