We are working incredibly hard towards our Eco Schools awards. This term the Eco council have met an updated our Eco Action plan detailing all of our aims this year (displayed on our dedicated notice board in the dining room).
In school we have been covering lots of Eco topics in all of our lessons.
This year children in Early Learners, Reception, Form 1 and Form 2 have been enjoying learning outside in all weathers using their brilliant waterproof coats and trousers. They have been enjoying Forest School activities and learning about lots of things in our local environment.

Our children have also been working hard at home towards their personal Eco awards. Currently we have 48 children who have achieved their bronze certificate, 12 children who have achieved their silver certificate, 7 children who have achieved their gold certificate and 6 golden ticket holders (Outstanding) who will be on our mystery trip in the summer term.
Half term is the perfect time to complete more Eco activities at home. These do not have to cost a lot and many activities are free. There is a wealth of ideas on The Nature Detectives (Woodland Trust) website, 50 things to do before 11 ¾ (National trust website) and on the RSPB Kids website. The photo gallery shows some of the excellent Eco activities submitted so far this year.
This half term’s challenge is to make or buy a bird box to show support for the National Nest Box week 2017!
