We
adopt a balanced approach to sport and our first objective is to ensure that
all pupils enjoy their games.
Ball skills and co-ordination are developed from an early age and later on
the opportunities arise to represent the school in team matches.
Outdoor sports can be played either on grass or on the all-weather surface
on site, or on the five acre playing fields a short distance away from the
school. We also make good use of local facilities for such activities as swimming,
golf, squash and badminton.
Children follow a nationally recognised certificated development course in
gymnastics. Cricket, soccer, netball, rounders and tennis are the principal
sports, but others such as rugby, athletics, cross-country running, hockey
and basketball are equally popular.
Our annual Sports Day (shown opposite) is much enjoyed by children and parents.
Visiting soccer, tennis and cricket professionals add another dimension to the extensive opportunities for all pupils, using lunchtime or after school activity sessions to coach pupils
