U9 Rounders v. Yarlet

A team of eager Rounders players from Prep. 3, 4 and 5 travelled to Yarlet, near Stone, for their first rounders fixture. For the younger girls it was a chance to compete in an inter-school match for the first time.

To keep the game fair, each team is bowled 27 good balls, which gives everyone the chance of hitting the ball 3 times. The bowler is allowed to bowl 2 no-balls before half a rounder is awarded to the other team. It is always difficult to bowl accurately at the start of a season and unfortunately, Yarlet were able to score a few rounders from no-balls.

All of the girls tried their best and there was some promising batting and fielding demonstrated.

Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to win but all enjoyed the experience.
