I was appointed
Headmaster in 1976 and I am delighted to be enjoying this privileged
position which is both challenging and stimulating. I am lucky to have the
backing of loyal and enthusiastic staff; together we try to uphold the school's
traditional values whilst at the same time helping young minds to be forward
thinking and technologically aware.
I
believe that children will work hard if they are stimulated, interested and
happy. This happiness is achieved through developing confidence in their abilities
which, when utilised fully, lead the way to personal fulfilment. Indeed, the
school motto, penned in the year 2000 by one of our pupils, reflects this
philosophy:
Endeavour brings happiness and success.
Outside the classroom we have initiated a comprehensive programme of extra mural activities which, with the school's commitment to involvement in music, drama and sport, contributes to the exciting and busy world of today's child.
We actively teach the virtues of good manners. Also, as part of their training in social development, the children participate in discussion groups in which they are guided through topics which teach them respect for themselves and others. The school's commitment to this type of personal education is much appreciated by parents, leading to a confident and well-rounded child.
