My blog messages will be taking the place of the half-termly Newsletters: for the time being we will send out a printed version but I’m hoping that eventually everyone will be able to view all our communications by email or on the website.
These last few months have certainly been momentous in the life of Edenhurst: 50th Anniversary events; the death of my mother and the transfer of ownership to Bellevue. Incidentally, my mother was aware of the impending move and was fully in favour of it – for the simple reason of ensuring the school’s future development and security.
So I’m now looking forward to settling back down to normal, being Headmaster and getting used to working for someone else for the first time for 30 years! Seriously, I’m very excited about the potential benefits from our relationship with Bellevue. Already you will have hopefully enjoyed the new-style electronic Newsletter which links with the school website. We will be featuring more children’s work on here in the future, giving you a better insight into their progress in school.
If you have not received the email containing the exciting electronic Newsletter, please go to http://www.edenhurst.co.uk/content/latest-newsletters to view it. You could also check your spam/junk folders to make sure you can receive these in the future. The next issue will be on November 11th.
Mark Malley will be visiting us on a regular basis to prompt discussions about new developments and we have already held talks to work out a detailed plan for the next few years which I look forward to overseeing.
I was honoured to be voted as Chairman of the PTA for the 25th anniversary year and will do my best to continue the great work of previous holders of this post, along with the new Committee. The next event will be the Bonfire and Fireworks Night on November 5th at Whisper Lane – it was a huge success last year and we’re expecting a bumper crowd again this time. Don’t forget to buy your tickets!
Here are some of the highlights of the next half of term to which parents and friends are invited: Prep II Drama Evening (November 23rd); Whole School Anniversary Concert (November 30th); Christmas Fayre (December 2nd); Carol Service (December 14th).
I hope you all have a super Half Term break.
