Edenhurst has been much more than just a school to us all. We have loved the music, drama and sports and really feel both our boys have been given lots of great opportunities. IMAGES |
SportTags: There is a strong emphasis on health and fitness outside the classroom. Edenhurst believes that all children should be given the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of sporting activities. The intention is that each child may find at least one physical activity for them to enjoy and maybe, in which to excel. We believe that healthy competition is character building. To this end teams of different ages enjoy fixtures against other independent schools in soccer, rugby, hockey and netball. Ball skills and co-ordination are developed from an early age and later on the opportunities arise to represent the school in team matches. Outdoor sports can be played either on grass or on the all-weather surface on site, or on the five acre playing fields a short distance away from the school. We also make good use of local facilities for such activities as swimming, golf, squash and badminton. Children follow a nationally recognised certificated development course in gymnastics. Cricket, soccer, netball, rounders and tennis are the principal sports, but others such as rugby, athletics, cross-country running, hockey and basketball are equally popular. Our annual Sports Day is much enjoyed by children and parents. |
