Guidance GroupsTags: All children in the School from the age of eight years upwards are assigned to a specific member of staff to create what is known as a Guidance Group. Typically, each goup will comprise of five children. The aim is to create a sufficiently small discussion group in which all children may feel confident enough to open up and freely discuss various issues. At intervals throughout the year, the Guidance Groups will meet to discuss a range of Pastoral topics. It also provides an opportunity for the children to air any problems which are currently specific to them. Of course, if they wish to speak in confidence to their Guidance Group Leader, or indeed to any member of Staff, then they will be able to do so at a different time. This system therefore is another channel through which your child can make Staff aware of any concerns they may have and thus open the way for a solution to be found. » |
