Edenhurst supports the learning and teaching of foreign languages from the age of three years (R) through to Common Entrance (Y8). We believe that including other languages on the curriculum from this age creates a positive attitude towards languages and can support their literacy and numeracy skills in a fun way.

Pupils develop their language-learning skills and learn about the basic structures of language and how it can be manipulated. Skills are developed and foundations are laid for the study of other languages such as Latin and Spanish in CE.

Pupils’ learning in other subjects is also supported e.g. maths, geography and history.
