common entrance key stage 3 (11-13 year olds)
Pupils may choose
to stay at Edenhurst until they are 13. These final two years of a Preparatory
school education are vital in that they imbue the pupils with a sense of responsibility
and purpose. Confidence gained through success and an ability to tackle all
situations maturely are just two attributes gained during this important phase
of the pupils' school life.
The Common
Entrance 13+ syllabus is used as the basis for work during this two year course,
with the examination taken during the pupil's final term here, although many
senior schools hold their own entrance tests at 13+ in the spring term.
Edenhurst does not feed any one school in particular, though we keep in touch
with a great many: Abbots Bromley, Abbotsholme, Alderley Edge School for Girls,
Denstone, Ellesmere, The Grange, Moreton Hall, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Oundle,
Repton, St. Dominic's Priory,
St. Joseph's, Stafford Grammar and Shrewsbury.
