stage 2 (7-11 year olds)
Work in the Prep forms is studied via a subject based timetable, with specialist
teaching. Further subjects introduced at this level are French and Drama, with
Latin being learned in the final Prep year.
Written homework begins here, with a gentle start in Prep I (7/8 years). Parents
are asked to help the school by checking the child's Homework Diary each day.
Reading, spelling and the learning of tables continues.
School examinations
take place twice a year followed by Parents' Evenings to discuss results and
general progress.
Preparation for entrance examinations at 11+ to day schools is included in the
schemes of work. Parents are invited to join the Headmaster for discussion on
future schooling during this time.
